An old man called the police on me because i threw away a paper after he left.

I do vehicle emissions and registration renewals.

Old man came to do an emissions test, which we happily did. He handed us his renewal reminder postcard, even though he did not want his renewal done.

Once the emission test is done, he left without retrieving his renewal postcard, and procedure is to shred it and throw it away because it has personal information on it. this is not a paper you NEED whatsoever to renew your registration in my state.

Old man came back, demanded the paper back, and i told him i threw it away because he never retrieved it, and i explained to him that it was procedure to throw it away. Old man proceeded to SCREAM at me in front of an office full of customers, i told him to GTFO, and he called the police on me.

They sent FOUR officers down and the old man was trespassed.

Kinda my final straw at this job that i hate

My dad refuses to refrigerate left overs until at least 24hrs after dinner has been cooked

My dad refuses to refrigerate left overs until at least 24hrs after dinner has been cooked

For example my dad made chicken fettuccini last night and just left it sit out over night. I am afraid to eat it…. Should I be?

UPDATE: He just microwaved and ate some. The container still isn’t in the fridge.

It’s 3:16pm and it finally made its way to the fridge. For reference he started cooking at 5pm yesterday. So not quite 24 hours but pretty close.

My dog died and my dad sent me this AI slop to tell me

My dog died and my dad sent me this AI slop to tell me

That's it. My dog passed away last month (I moved last year for college, no longer live with my parents and dog) and my dad just texted me something like "hey I have bad news" and sent me this ai slop

edit: Guys, I know my dad had good intentions, The problem isn't about AI, I don't care about that. The problem is that I'd like some comforting messages, maybe a phone call. He just sent me this and then complete silence.

Had an extra bone taken out of my foot. They wouldn’t let me see it

Had an extra bone taken out of my foot. They wouldn’t let me see it

I grew it myself, man. Had it all my life. Needed it out, but asked if I could keep it, and was told no because of “a bunch of legal reasons.”

How about a picture? Also no, because they couldn’t bring a camera into the sterile environment.

Aaaaalright.

But it was mine :(

everything has gotten so greedy

everything has gotten so greedy

i’m so over literally every platform making you pay individually. i’m not about to pay $100 a month to have streaming services i used to could have for $15 a month (when we could all share accounts). i’ve had youtube premium for 10 years back when it was called youtubeRed. my mom decided she wanted it too, and put her, me, my brother and sister on the plan 3 YEARS AGO. and now after 10 years im about to lose access because “they can’t prove me and my mom live together” we don’t but my address isn’t even listed. sorry for the rant, im just so frustrated with this. the only streaming service i have is prime, and i watch youtube a lot so i enjoy having no ads. i’m about to be down to just prime maybe it’s time to just quit watching tv altogether

EDIT: i should have included this earlier but we DID live together when the account was started. i have since moved out

If our lights are off on Halloween, please skip our house

Edit: Thanks for the sign, bowl and training tips. We have a bowl and we're working on the dogs. The point isn't how I can avoid the doorbell. It's that a dark porch used to be a widely understood 'no'.

Every year it's the same thing. We turn the porch light off, which is the universal sign for "we're sitting this one out," and every year someone rings the doorbell anyway. Then they ring it again.

Our dogs lose their minds at the door. Barking, scratching, total chaos. I'd love to hand out candy, but it's not worth the stress for them, or the risk of a door opening on a group of excited kids and a dog who wants to join the party.

Dark house means we're not participating. It's not a challenge, and it's not a "maybe they didn't hear us."

Please skip the houses with no lights on. There are plenty of lit up ones giving out full size bars.

An airport employee at PDX tried to steal my suitcase

An airport employee at PDX tried to steal my suitcase

The first photo shows where an airport employee hid my suitcase. They removed one of my AirTags, tucked the suitcase inside an access panel on a lavatory cart, and drove it to the airport perimeter.

I flew out of Portland, Oregon, on Tuesday and checked my suitcase with the airline. It never arrived at my destination. I reported it missing, and the airline opened a case. Each time I called, I was told it would arrive on the next flight.

I had three AirTags in the suitcase. Their locations kept updating, but they were about half a mile apart—which seemed very strange.

After a day without any progress, I booked a flight back to PDX. I drove to the airport perimeter, where two of the AirTags were showing. Apple Find My connected to both, and I could hear their sound.

I found my suitcase inside the lavatory cart. Because I was outside the perimeter fence, I contacted the airline manager, who sent an employee to retrieve it.

Without the multiple AirTags, I might have assumed my suitcase was simply lost. Seeing them in separate locations made me suspicious enough to get on a flight.

The airline refunded my ticket price for the inconvenience.

The candy I won’t be handing out today because my wife called me a creep for being excited about trick or treaters

The candy I won’t be handing out today because my wife called me a creep for being excited about trick or treaters

First Halloween in years I won’t be working so I bought a bag of candy to give out

When I got it out of the pantry to lay out my wife says “ok creep”

went on to explain that a 47 year old man giving out candy to kids is creepy and I should absolutely not be doing that

My 11 year old nephew bought a bunch of Robux and then lied about it

My 11 year old nephew bought a bunch of Robux and then lied about it

I visited my 11 year old nephew recently to bond and buy him a birthday gift for his VR. I used an IPad his foster parent had connected to his Oculus to purchase the game, and then removed my card information.

Apple later updated my card information on the account when I got a new card, and now he has purchased over $100 in Robux. When I confronted him about it, he said he didn’t know what I was talking about. Shortly after the confrontation, he bought even more Robux before I could change my password and log him out.

I’m trying to figure out how to confront him. He has AuDHD and has had a pretty traumatic life, but he needs to know that this kind of behavior isn’t okay.
