Let's Encrypt Outage Affecting Certificate Issuance and Managed Databases Operations

May 8, 21:54 UTC
Resolved - The upstream outage with Let's Encrypt has been resolved. Customers should now be able to issue Let's Encrypt certificates for Spaces, Load Balancers, and App Platform Custom Domains. Our Engineering team has also confirmed that stuck or delayed actions with Mongo, Advanced PG, and Advanced MySQL databases should complete normally now.

We appreciate your patience. If you continue to experience any issues, please open a support ticket from within your account.

May 8, 20:46 UTC
Identified - Our Engineering team is aware of an upstream outage with Let's Encrypt (see https://letsencrypt.status.io/) which impacts the following services:

- Inability to create new Let's Encrypt certificates for Spaces, Load Balancers, and App Platform Custom Domains
- Stuck or delayed creates/forks/restores on Mongo, PG, and MySQL databases.

Please note that operations related to Managed Databases and App Platform Custom Domains will automatically retry and should complete successfully once the upstream outage is resolved.

We'll continue to monitor this situation and provide updates. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Core Infrastructure Maintenance May 7, 2026, 15:00 UTC

May 7, 21:00 UTC
Completed - The scheduled maintenance has been completed.

May 7, 15:20 UTC
In progress - Scheduled maintenance is currently in progress. We will provide updates as necessary.

May 7, 15:13 UTC
Scheduled - Start: 2026-05-07 15:00 UTC
End: 2026-05-07 21:00 UTC

Our Engineering team is performing maintenance on core control plane infrastructure. Please note that the existing infrastructure will continue running without issue. This maintenance may impact create, read, update, and delete (CRUD) operations in all regions.

Expected Impact:

During the maintenance window, users may experience brief periods of increased latency with the following platform operations:

Cloud Control Panel and API operations
Event processing
Droplet creates, resizes, rebuilds, and power events
Managed Kubernetes reconciliation and scaling
Load Balancer operations
Container Registry operations
App Platform operations
Managed Database creation and scaling

We do not expect any impact to customer traffic due to this maintenance. If an unexpected issue for the control plane arises, we will endeavor to keep any impact to a minimum and may revert if required.

Mid level developer looking for some honest feedback on my resume.

Mid level developer looking for some honest feedback on my resume.

Hi everyone,

After spending a few years at my first developer role I decided to take a year out of work to go travelling in Asia, now I'm back and ready to enter the job market once again. I'd like your help to get honest feedback on my resume before I start applying for jobs.

I'm mainly looking for feedback on:

  • Whether my bullet points are strong and impactful enough.
  • If my experience comes across as real engineering work vs. just surface level tasks
  • Anything I'm missing and red flags or weak spots in my resume?

Thanks!

The Chinese EV standard winning globally is banned in the U.S.

Much of the world is adopting the electric-vehicle technology the U.S. just banned. On March 17, the U.S.banned any vehicle with Chinese software from its roads. Beginning with cars arriving...

Lerd, an open source local PHP dev environment for Linux and macOS, with Drupal support

Lerd, an open source local PHP dev environment for Linux and macOS, with Drupal support

First time posting here. Sharing lerd because it has solid Drupal support and might be useful for folks who want a Podman-based alternative to DDEV or Lando without Docker Desktop, especially on Linux where the usual mac-first tools are awkward.

Lerd auto-detects Drupal projects via composer.json, handles the web/ document root, and gives you .test domains, per-project PHP version isolation (Drupal is strict about PHP requirements), one-command HTTPS via mkcert, MySQL or Postgres with one click, and Mailpit for email testing. Drush, Composer, and PHP commands all work through container shims so they pick up the right PHP version per project. Everything runs as rootless Podman containers, nothing touches your system PHP, no sudo required after install.

Highlights:

  • Auto-detects Drupal projects, including the web/ document root and the Drupal favicon path.
  • Per-project PHP version isolation, useful when juggling Drupal 9, 10, and 11 across projects.
  • Drush, Composer, and per-project PHP all run through lerd php so the right version is always used.
  • One-click MySQL or Postgres (plus phpMyAdmin or pgAdmin for browsing).
  • One-command HTTPS via mkcert, handy for OAuth / SAML / SSO testing.
  • In-browser PHP REPL per site with autocomplete and live linting, useful for poking at entity APIs without writing a temp script.
  • Full git worktree support with per-worktree DB isolation, so you can test a module update against a fresh DB on a feature branch without polluting your main one.

Would love feedback from Drupal devs, especially around Drush integration and module/theme dev workflows. If lerd looks useful, stars on GitHub help a lot with reach.

SFO2 Network Maintenance

May 4, 15:00 UTC
Completed - The scheduled maintenance has been completed.

May 4, 13:00 UTC
In progress - Scheduled maintenance is currently in progress. We will provide updates as necessary.

May 2, 12:39 UTC
Scheduled - Start: 2026-05-04 13:00 UTC
End: 2026-05-04 15:00 UTC

During the above window, our Networking team will be making changes to the core networking infrastructure to improve performance and scalability in the SFO2 region.

Expected impact:

We do not anticipate any downtime for Droplets or Droplet-related services, including Managed Databases, Load Balancers, App Platform, and Managed Kubernetes, as this maintenance has been carefully designed and tested to be seamless. In the unlikely event that an undetected misconfiguration occurs, a subset of customers could experience temporary network disruption. We will endeavor to keep this to a minimum for the duration of the change.
