During the above window, our Networking team will be making changes to core networking infrastructure, to improve performance and scalability in the NYC3 region.
Expected impact:
During the maintenance window, users may experience brief delays or failures in event processing for up to 5 minutes. This may affect Droplets and Droplet-based services, including Managed Kubernetes, Load Balancers, Container Registry, and App Platform. Additionally, regular requests via the Public API, as well as viewing and submitting requests through the Cloud Control Panel, may time out or fail for up to 5 minutes.We will endeavor to keep this to a minimum for the duration of the change.

During this time, users will experience errors when trying to use the public API at api.digitalocean.com or while accessing our Cloud Control Panel at https://cloud.digitalocean.com. Users may also see issues with processing Droplet and Kubernetes cluster creations along with Droplet-based events.

Identified - Our Engineering team has identified the reason behind the failed and delayed Droplet creates in the NYC3 region and implemented a partial mitigation to address this issue. As of now, customers may be able to create Droplets and Droplet-based services including Managed Kubernetes, Managed Databases, Load Balancers, and snapshots, however, there might be still some delay in the creates.

Resolved - From February 6 21:28:35 UTC to February 19 23:14:00 UTC, users may have experienced issues receiving monitoring alerts for tagged resources.
Our Engineering team has resolved the issue, alerts for tagged resources are now working properly and users should now start receiving new alerts going forward.

Any alerts that should've been received beginning February 6th to today will not be received, but new alerts for tagged resources should work going forward.

Investigating - Our Engineering team is investigating reports that alerts are not received when alerts are configured with tags. Users may not receive email notification of alerts when using tags, although resources specified by name are still monitored and receiving alerts properly.

El sector de la construcción sigue en vilo ante la incertidumbre por la indefinición de la reforma de la Ley de Intereses Preferenciales. Desde hace meses los créditos hipotecarios preferenciales no se están aprobando en la mayoría de los bancos y tampoco se están construyendo nuevos desarrollos inmobiliarios.
En una reunión en la Cámara Panameña de la Construcción, representantes de este sector, junto con desarrolladores de proyectos inmobiliarios residenciales y promotores, hicieron un llamado al Gobierno para que se acelere la aprobación de la reforma y se definan las reglas del juego para que se vuelvan a reactivar los préstamos subsidiados y la construcción.
El presidente de Capac, Alejandro Ferrer Solís, indicó que tanto la eliminación del Fondo Solidario de Vivienda que venció en junio de 2024, como la falta de pago del subsidio de las tasas de interés a los bancos, ha generado por una parte que se paralicen varias obras de construcción de viviendas de interés preferencial y que además, que la mayoría de los bancos no estén otorgando créditos subsidiados.
“Hay 75 proyectos retenidos que no van a arrancar hasta que no se apruebe esta ley de Intereses Preferenciales, entendemos que hay una situación fiscal y presupuestaria pero tenemos que tener esta ley con las reglas claras. Se calcula que el mercado inmobiliario en el último año pudo haber perdido 300 millones de dólares”, dijo Ferrer Solís al referirse al vencimiento del Fondo Solidario de Vivienda.
Señaló que la situación actual, derivada del próximo vencimiento de la Ley de Interés Preferencial, en los tramos 1 y 2 de vivienda, hasta 120 mil dólares ha impactado de manera inmediata en la pérdida de más de 12 mil plazas de empleo, una caída significativa en la recaudación de impuestos municipales y la incertidumbre de las familias cuyos créditos aprobados fueron descartados, afectando gravemente su posibilidad de acceder a una vivienda propia.
“La paralización de la construcción de viviendas de carácter social podría resultar en una drástica pérdida de empleos. El sector de la construcción representa el 7.8% del empleo nacional, según cifras oficiales del Inec a octubre 2024. Entre 2023 y 2024, se perdieron más de 12 mil empleos en el sector, lo que representa una disminución del 7.57%. Además, el empleo formal (pleno empleo) también disminuyó en un 6.92%, comparado con agosto de 2023″.
