First a question. What is the most effective way to restrict a page to logged in users or users with a particular role?Do I have to use a plug-in or is the good code out there that I can find and use to do the job? Which is most efficient?

Next let me say thank you to the members of this sub for invaluable tips and information provided in the past. Though I have used WP since it's early b2 fork days I have not kept up with all the changes to the infrastructure so I appreciate being able to ask questions here to upgrade my knowledge.

I changed the archive page for content from wiki to articles so content went from urls went from
https://mydomain.com/wiki/article-slug to https://mydomain.com/articles/article-slug
I am trying to write a redirect to redirect all the old URLs to the new URLs I tried this but it doesn't work.
Original url - ^/wiki/. Target url - /articles/.\*

I am really scratching my head on this one. I clones a WP install from a subdomain to a new separate domain. Previously I had a redirect from the domain to the sub domain but after the clone and setting the config and htaccess files mydomain.com is still redirecting to sub.mydomain.com. I clear cached the and checked every existing configuration I could think of but it is still redirecting. What am I missing?
