[PROMO] A month out from Black Friday, most sale links still share a cropped product photo. Before/after:

The card you see when someone pastes your product URL is built from two separate things: an image (og:image) and your page metadata. The title, price and description in that card are not inside the image. Only the picture is.

Left is what a default WooCommerce product shares as. Right is the same product, same title, same description — the only difference is the og:image it points at, now rendered at 1200×630 with the photo fitted instead of cropped, the live price, the compare-at price, and the saving computed from the catalogue.

I build this — FastOG for WooCommerce, stating it up front. I'm posting now because we added Black Friday and Seasonal designs, and the Black Friday one shown here is on the free tier, so nothing in that screenshot needs a card to try.

Two things I genuinely want opinions on from people running stores:

  • Price on the card — does it win the click, or does it read as an advert sitting next to normal posts?
  • Variable products — show the price range, or the cheapest variant?

Install steps and link in a comment (sub rules).
