Edit: I will have a friend (roomate) go back with me in the morning because I just don’t wanna be involved in anything legally since I’m not from here. And a lot of things already happened to me this week so it’s really overwhelming. So I’m really scared to get in trouble and just really anxious right now and in a panic I think I would feel better if I actually went and paid for the things because I have the money to.
(Everything is translated for me because my English isn’t good mother language is French so sorry if some of my replies in the section that aren’t don’t make since)

| I do vehicle emissions and registration renewals. Old man came to do an emissions test, which we happily did. He handed us his renewal reminder postcard, even though he did not want his renewal done. Once the emission test is done, he left without retrieving his renewal postcard, and procedure is to shred it and throw it away because it has personal information on it. this is not a paper you NEED whatsoever to renew your registration in my state. Old man came back, demanded the paper back, and i told him i threw it away because he never retrieved it, and i explained to him that it was procedure to throw it away. Old man proceeded to SCREAM at me in front of an office full of customers, i told him to GTFO, and he called the police on me. They sent FOUR officers down and the old man was trespassed. Kinda my final straw at this job that i hate [link] [comments] |

Emotional Invulnerability Night is even wilder
With the recent high-stakes security exploits, I think as DevOps engineers it's our responsibility to make the local dev environment secure for devs.
What do you think?
What are you actively doing about it (like adopting devcontainers)

| Before anybody misconstrues my jabs, I'd like to really stress that I am neither a staunch holier-than-thou, warmongering, corrupt, performative Democrat, nor am I a misogynist, xenophobic, soulless, warmongering, corrupt, scum-sucking Republican. It sure is fun to see the most evil people in the world stammer and scuttle about, harrumphing about how they could have lost the American people's support, though. At the end of the day, real change starts at home. If anything, I hope that the results of this election energize people to get involved in their communities, connect with your neighbors, find ways to give back and support our those that need help. Because if anything can be gleaned from the track record of Democrats in the last 15 years, it'll be a lot of shifting to the right in the name of "working across the aisle", satisfying their corporate megadonors, and claiming their hands are tied. Maybe if we put some actual pressure on these public servants (let's remember, politicians are supposed to be working for us, after all) we could see some real positive change.
