Me interesa especialmente conocer:

  • ¿Qué les parece la idea y su funcionamiento?
  • ¿La navegación les resulta intuitiva?
  • ¿Qué aspectos creen que deberían mejorarse?
  • ¿Qué funcionalidades nuevas les gustaría encontrar?
  • ¿Hay algo que les genere dudas o que no les convenza?

No busco solamente comentarios positivos.

Cant connect to website although ip resolves ( Porkbun registrar )

EDIT: SOLVED

EXPLANATION: my domain has .app TLD like @kai-zaphosting told.I found that Google owns .app and there is some HSTS policy , again like @kai-zaphosting explained ( u shld read that ) and it just redirects all http requests directly to https , and my page was http not https, so i was not seeing a page. And the curl methods given in the comment along with a few more confirmed that request was being served succesfully on http and https was the culprit.
To get my website working, i just firstly pointed my domain to ip and generated certbot certs and then setup certs for the VPS Nginx config and then tried visting, and WOOOH it WORKED.

Thanks a lot @kai-zaphosting :)

This site can’t be reached

mywebsite . com refused to connect.

ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

When i try to ping , it works , but 100% packet loss

IP is resolved when i check via public DNS checker, idk what is wrong , support hasn't replied yet.

I have 4 domains registered, and only one is working . All have exact same settings . Tried pointing all to same IP, still only 1 particular one works for some reason.

Please help

EDIT: Porkbun is only serving as domain registrar , website is hosted on custom VPS by Azure

Hosting Company - Hiring

Hi everyone,

DELETE MY POST IF THIS IS NOT ALLOWED.

But I'm the owner /operatir of an IT company based in Montreal Canada.

I currently have a part time employee that handled Microsoft work and others.

We are currently in talks to buy hoster with about 1.2K customers, and would be looking for a contract to work with us on this.

The person MUST speak Spanish as the customer base is 100% Spanish speaking customers.

Or ask questions in this thread that might benefit everyone.

Anyone else experiencing a WIIT/myLoc DUS8 network outage in Düsseldorf? (AS24961)

Hey everyone,

Anyone else having issues with dedicated servers at WIIT/myLoc DUS8 in Düsseldorf today (October 31)?

I have two dedicated servers rented through OneProvider that have been completely unreachable since around 16:00 CET.

Affected network: 213.202.230.xxx

100% packet loss on both servers

All tested TCP connections time out

Routers 89.163.203.xxx return "Destination Host Unreachable"

Cloudflare and Google remain reachable without packet loss

Both servers are Platinum tier, and my customers are affected. I've contacted OneProvider but haven't received any useful response or status update.

Is anyone else affected at DUS8 or elsewhere on AS24961? Has anyone heard anything from WIIT/myLoc?

Any information would be appreciated!

AlexHost: I paid for a year, but my hosting was suspended after seven months

AlexHost: I paid for a year, but my hosting was suspended after seven months

I am sharing my personal experience with alexhost.com so prospective customers can make an informed decision.

On February 19, 2025, I paid €328.51, including the payment fee, for hosting covering February 19, 2025 to February 18, 2026. On September 29, 2025, just over seven months later, my hosting account was suspended and my website went offline despite the remaining prepaid period.

I contacted AlexHost and repeatedly asked for a solution. In my view, the explanation they gave was a false excuse. They refused to refund my money or bring my website back online. I consider their handling of my case unacceptable.

I subsequently found other online reviews describing similar experiences: unexpected suspensions, loss of access to files and refused refunds. To me, these recurring complaints suggest that my experience may not be isolated. I cannot independently verify every review or claim that this happens to all customers. AlexHost disputes complaints and cites breaches of its terms.

To read the complaints and the company's responses, search Google for:

AlexHost reviews Trustpilot

AlexHost suspended without notice

AlexHost refund refused

AlexHost data deleted

AlexHost complaints Reddit

Based on my experience, I do not recommend AlexHost. Before paying in advance, check the suspension and refund conditions and keep independent backups. My invoice documents my payment.

Has anyone else experienced suspension, inaccessible data or a refused refund with AlexHost? What happened, and was it resolved?

Google:

recover domain??

A friend of mine owns a restaurant, and one of their employees was responsible for managing the website and domain.

Unfortunately, the employee forgot to renew the domain, and it expired. Someone else has since registered it. i guess it was on autobuy as it was gone the same day. On Godaddy.

The new owner kept a copy of the restaurant's original website, including its branding and content, but added gambling links throughout the site.

The website still looks like it belongs to the restaurant, which could mislead customers and potentially damage the business's reputation.

Is there a way to recover the domain or force the new owner to remove the restaurant's content?

Has anyone dealt with something similar? Any advice would be appreciated

GoDaddy customer support is the worst

GoDaddy's customer support is the worst. I have worked in customer support for various software firms for almost thirty years and I know what customer support should be. GoDaddy's attitude towards their customers can be summed as 'get lost.'
I have been unable for several days to log in to GoDaddy. I waited, thinking it would clear up but it didn't, so I finally contacted customer support. Customer support turned out to be an AI bot that said the problem was my browser (Chrome) and suggested several workarounds that didn't work. When I finally got in touch with a human he put me on hold for 30 minutes and then hung up. I called back and was put on hold for so long when someone finally answered, I'd forgotten what I was calling about so I just said I wanted to close my account. He gave me a different number to call and when I called that there was no answer. I'm disgusted.
GoDaddy may be alright if you're highly technical and don't need assistance, but it's a very hard system to use and there are many bugs which they refuse to fix. It's also very expensive compared to alternatives. The smartest thing to do is to stay as far away from GoDaddy as possible.

Is pagespeed still relevant?

Shameful boasting and likely a silly question, but I've optimised the T out of my site with the best pagespeed scores since 2013 but looking at the AI crawlers and low human traffic I am doubtful if this was worth the effort for websites any more.

I used local AI on a GPU that worked a long period of time but the efforts seems pointless..

Scores:

Performance: 99

Accessibility: 98

Best Practices: 100

SEO: 100

Thoughts?

New business, looking at website hosting options. Complete new to web design

Hi all,

Looking for some advice. Started a new business (estate agents) and looking to create a website to allow:

Tenants to view available properties
Landlords to submit details for valuations
Link available properties from our CRM (10Ninety)

Looking to run as lean as possible at least initially with regards to costs and budgets.
Based in UK and currently no website at present. Domain has been purchased already from GoDaddy. Furthermore, the website is unlikely to require frequent changes once set up and publish, only frequent change would be live feed of properties being updated from CRM.

Going in completely blind so will be grateful for any guidance. I have created AI generated drafts with the following:

Framer: 1st year cost: £120, 2nd year cost: £120
GoDaddy AIRO: 1st year cost: £89.98, 2nd year cost: £131.88
WixAI: 1st year cost: £108, 2nd year cost: £108

I preferred the look, feel and intuitiveness of GoDaddy but seeing a lot of negative feedback and sentiment online and on reddit so wary on how best to proceed.

Also as an additional, if in future we wanted to move away from GoDaddy (or other host) what would exporting options look like?

Thanks in advance :)

Does Redis still consume significant CPU after disabling WordPress Redis Object Cache?

I'm investigating intermittent performance issues on a large WooCommerce installation running on managed hosting.

Environment:

  • 4 vCPU, 16 GB RAM
  • MariaDB 10.11
  • Redis Server 7.2
  • Redis Object Cache 3.0.0 with Predis over a Unix socket
  • Connection and read timeouts: 1 second

We experienced recurring Predis errors:

Error while reading line from the server

The plugin developer suggested testing 2.5 or 5-second timeouts.

During a hosting consultation, an experienced technician mentioned that Redis can require almost an entire CPU core under load and that the Redis server process continues running even after the WordPress cache plugin is disabled.

We've temporarily disabled Redis Object Cache, but WooCommerce still experiences occasional 10–18-second TTFB on dynamic requests.

My questions:

  1. Is it correct that the Redis daemon normally continues running after WordPress object caching is disabled?
  2. If no applications are actively using Redis, should its CPU consumption normally be negligible?
  3. Under what workloads could Redis consume close to a full CPU core?
  4. Which server-side metrics would you inspect to distinguish Redis CPU contention from PHP-FPM worker exhaustion or MariaDB bottlenecks?

We don't yet know whether Redis shares the same CPU allocation as PHP-FPM.

I'm interested in real-world operational experience rather than simply increasing server resources.

Thanks!

Any good black Friday web hosting deals out there ?

Anyone spotted any good Black Friday deals on web hosting? I'm thinking about switching providers and would love to hear what's worth checking out. Ideally, I'm looking for something reliable with decent support, not just the cheapest first-year price. If you've used a host for a while, how has you experience bee? Any recommendations or like providers you'd avoid?

Trying to combine/set up Namecheap email hosting with a Clouflare domain name so I can start a Kit newsletter (explain it like I'm 5)

Preface: I have no idea what I'm doing. I tried to set up a newsletter service through Kit yesterday but didn't realize I needed to own my own email address for sending the emails. I had already purchased a domain name through Cloudflare to use with a future Carrd website that I will be setting up. (FYI I am a newly published author generating almost $0 royalties right now and trying to figure all of this technical stuff out.) I looked into Cloudflare's email option and it was $7/month (again, I'm making no sales yet.)

After researching, Namecheap email hosting seemed like the cheapest option that fit my needs, so I purchased an email service through them using my Cloudfare domain name.

Now - I have no idea how to combine the two, set up DNS (don't even know what that is), or create the actual email address name because Namecheap did not prompt me to do that like I thought it would.

I've tried searching through the help articles on both websites, but I don't understand the lingo so I'm left clueless. Am I even able to use all these different things together?

(Edit: Reddit thinks I'm a bot so it never shows my upvotes, but I appreciate everyone's help.)

What happened to Liquid Web?

I've been a customer for over 6 years, originally with Beyond Hosting before ending up at Liquid Web.

Their support used to be genuinely good, which was one of the main reasons I stuck around for so long. But over the years it's just gotten progressively worse. Slow responses, tickets being passed around, and nobody really taking ownership of anything.

Recently had an issue with a server I'd requested to cancel months ago. I'll admit I missed a follow-up confirmation from them, but the way they handled the whole thing afterwards was pretty disappointing. Took multiple follow-ups just to get someone to properly look into it, and even then I mostly got generic responses.

Their pricing also seems completely out of touch with what you're actually getting these days. I finally decided to move everything elsewhere and honestly wish I'd done it sooner. The new setup is faster, considerably cheaper and was surprisingly easy to migrate to.

Bit of a shame really. I used to recommend them, but I definitely wouldn't anymore.

[FOSS] Auto-Benchmarked 38 VPS types (Hetzner, UpCloud, OVH, AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI)

A few months ago I started an open-source benchmark suite (MIT, not affiliated with any provider) that provisions the same sysbench + fio tests on all configured instance-types, then destroys them. It now supports 7 providers and more than 6 months of pricing and performance data.

The latest addition, UpCloud, showed quite good performance, adding another european provider to the top in terms of price/performance. Upcloud also offered the best disk speed I have seen so far for small to medium sized instances.

You can find the dashboard at https://fabianwimberger.github.io/cloud-bench/ and the source + logs under https://github.com/fabianwimberger/cloud-bench - feel free to leave me some feedback or request instances for comparison!

For WHMCS alternatives: I've just migrated it for FOSSBilling and it has been great

Been using lifetime license for ages but recent php bug forced to look for alternatives since i can no longer use old php versions.

With all alternatives, FOSSBilling gets my vote. Used Gemini to vibe code simple migration script for clients, invoices, tickets, kb, and it's everything has been working smoothly.

Just in case anyone else is looking, https://github.com/FOSSBilling is the link, and it's free.
