Do you think WordPress sites get too dependent on plugins?
One thing I’ve noticed with WordPress is how easy it is to solve every new requirement by installing another plugin.
At first, it seems convenient. But over time, a site can end up with a large number of plugins handling relatively small things, which can make maintenance and troubleshooting more complicated.
I’m starting to think that before adding a plugin, it’s worth asking whether the feature actually needs one or could be handled more simply through the theme, existing WordPress functionality, or a small custom solution.
Where do you personally draw the line between “use a plugin” and “build it yourself”?
