| My dad passed away in 2018. I was randomly looking at his old apartment on Google Maps and decided to check the older Street View images. I went back to 2014 and suddenly realized... that's my dad standing outside. I'm originally from Canada, but I've been living in Thailand since 2012, so we hadn't had many chances to see each other for a long time. To make it even more bittersweet, we were actually in the middle of a disagreement when he passed away. So there's something really weird, but also comforting, about finding this. It's just a completely ordinary moment β him standing outside his apartment, going about his day β but Google happened to drive by at exactly that moment in 2014. Years later, I can basically go back to that exact place and moment and see my dad alive again. I don't know, I just thought it was pretty crazy and wanted to share. [link] [comments] |

| Sadly, the dentist passed away a few years ago. Puppers no longer visits. But, I know she helped so many with anxiety and fear of the dentist. Edit: I really didn't expect this to blow up in this way. Just wanted to say it's really great to see all the replies about therapy dogs in different places. I had no idea so many practices did it. | In 2011, Japanese photographer Haruhisa Tomiyasu started photographing one ordinary ping pong table from the window of his student apartment in Leipzig, Germany. What began after spotting a fox near the table quickly turned into a five-year project documenting all the unexpected ways people used it. It became a bench, a sunbathing spot, a workout station, a meeting place, and sometimes something completely different. Thousands of small moments later, the project became the photobook TTP, published by MACK in 2018 and winner of the MACK First Book Award. Itβs a simple reminder that even the most ordinary places can become fascinating when you watch them long enough. [link] [comments] |
