I see a lot of YouTube channels using NetBird, and when I look into it, I honestly don’t understand it. I understand that it’s similar to Tailscale, but that’s about as far as I’ve gotten. Can anybody offer comparisons of NetBird vs. Tailscale?One thing I saw was that there wasn’t an Android client for NetBird, but then I saw something that said they did have one. My network is very simple:4 computers (2 desktops — 1 Windows, 1 Linux; 1 laptop; 1 Chromebook) 2 cell phones 2 Android tablets 6 IoT devices (smart plugs/bulbs) a Ring doorbell and a Ring camera one Alexa device

My VPS setups are 5 different VPSes, with Pi-hole running on 2 of them (Gravity Sync between them; the second is a backup).Tailscale is on all of my devices except my wife’s cell phone (I can’t get her to install it). I have subnet routes for Alexa, but I could not get the other devices working. I’m also not really sure if Alexa is properly subnet-routed, since everything is wireless and my computer is wired with no wireless adapter.What, if anything, would I gain or lose if I switched to NetBird?

I'm currently working in DevOps/SRE and I'm trying to better understand the gap between my current experience and what is expected from DevOps/SRE engineers in other countries.

My long-term goal is to work internationally, so I'm trying to be realistic about where I stand and what I need to improve before making that move.

I'd really like to connect with DevOps/SRE engineers who are currently working in countries outside their home country, especially people who have gone through a similar transition.

I'm interested in learning about things such as:

• What technical skills are most important for international DevOps/SRE roles?
• Which areas did you personally have to improve when moving to another country?
• How important are Kubernetes, AWS/Azure/GCP, Terraform, CI/CD, observability, security, and scripting in your current role?
• Are there any skills that people often overlook when preparing for these roles?
• What level of system design, troubleshooting, Linux, networking, and cloud knowledge is expected?
• How important are communication and teamwork skills compared with technical skills?
• What would you focus on if you were preparing for an international DevOps/SRE role from scratch today?

I'm not looking for job offers or referrals. I'm mainly trying to identify my knowledge gaps, learn from people with real experience, and build a better learning path.

I've been working on Oasis Editor, an open-source TypeScript document editor with its own Canvas-based rendering engine.

React sits on top as an adapter rather than owning the editor runtime, so the same core can be used from vanilla JS, Vue, or headless environments.

The editor handles paged layout, text rendering, selections, images, tables, and document geometry through its own rendering pipeline, and exposes a typed command/plugin API.

If you were starting as a WordPress developer today, what would you recommend learning first?

Block Editor, Elementor, or traditional PHP-based development?

I own the domain [mylastname.com]. For decades I've had a "real" email address at yahoo, gmail, or a university and I forwarded email from [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) to my "real" account. No one new my real account and I never needed to update people that my email address was changing. (I adopted this initially with bigfoot in the 90s). A few other members of my family do the same.

Now for the problem - in the last year or so spam filtering has gotten overly aggressive and I can't get my email. What happens is this:

1. email comes in to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) at my webhost.
2. Webhost forwards it to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]), but now it considers it outgoing mail
3. The outgoing spam filter sees a mailing list or something else slightly commercial and blocks it.
4. No one is notified of the block. The sender doesn't even get a bounce message.

I talked to my webhost and the best they could do was migrate me to another web server that used MailChannels instead of SpamExperts, but hat only made it worse. I talked to tech support at MailChannels and they basically said my best bet was to stop using their product. My web host won't opt me out of spam filtering because of fairly obvious reasons.

What are my options? I understand that ignoring a tech system for 15 years leads to some obsolescence, but at this point I've resigned myself to be dragged (kicking and screaming of course) into whatever the newer solution is. I really don't want to go back to thunderbird/whatever has replaced pop3. I don't want to do google hosting since not everyone in my family likes google (my sister uses hotmail. No, I can't explain why). The other thing is that all of us do hybrids - we have some email going to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]), and some email goes directly to the gmail/hotmail/whatever account. Having two email accounts to check is a pain in the neck. Is there some way to combine these two accounts without using forwarding? Any webhosts that won't do content filtering on my mail? Another obvious solution I'm missing?

I am working for a small-medium sized corp that has 5 child companies that I am designing websites for and building out in Wordpress. Initially I got some time to do some research in data analytics and web designing. Now though, I am literally just making the sites in wordpress and am still an intern. Like I make the pages in wordpress, and then present it to my superivsor and marketing manager for them to review weekly.

I work 3 days a week and get paid 19 an hour.

They basically told me that they wont have the budget to actually hire me but want me to stay till the end of the year to try and get as many of the websites made as I can. I *want* to do this but I am afraid that I am getting underpaid to do this kind of work.

I am aware im not a full blown web dev, but I do write basic scripts for funcitonality and I am making the site essentially fully on my own. I feel like I should at least get like a different job title so that I can put it on my resume.

My goal is eventually to be an actual web dev. I have an associates in computer and web programming and have built websites from scratch with html/css/js, php, sql servers. I am still working on growing my knowledge of technologies but Its a start.

I guess I just want some advice on what I should do not only with my position, but moving forward with careers.

I tried finding the +$100/h hourly rated freelancers and I don't see anything out the ordinary.
API integrations, AI like chatbots with RAG, junior devs tutoring, setting up ERP.
Idk what I was expecting, maybe crazy performance optimizations with in-depth breakdowns of what was cut or optimized and not "made a database be updated by pulling data from a public API, charged $5000".

Not sure what I'm doing wrong as someone who struggles to find work even as I drive my hourly rate lower and lower.

No lo digo como crítica pa na 🙅🏾‍♀️ . Sé q acá la edad legal es 18 y simplemente es algo diferente a lo q estoy acostumbrada viviendo en Estados Unidos. Allá los lugares q frecuentaba normalmente tenían una mezcla mucho más amplia d edades.

Pero como estoy nueva en el país, me gustaría encontrar lugares donde vaya más gente d mi rango d edad, digamos 30+, o x lo menos donde haya una mezcla d edades y no sentir q soy la tía del grupo 🫣😂.

Me gustan los lugares con música, baile, ambiente latino o caribeño, donde uno pueda tomarse algo, bailar y pasarla bien. En Florida iba mucho a lugares donde había gente desde sus 20s hasta 50s/60s y todo el mundo compartía y bailaba; ese tipo d ambiente me encanta.

Alguna recomendación en Ciudad d Panamá? Bares, discotecas, rooftops, lounges, eventos, lo q sea. Y ojo, no busco nada popi ni yeyé 😂 me da igual el área. Solo q como ando sola, prefiero lugares donde una mujer pueda salir sola y sentirse tranquila 🙏🏾

I want in my practice chat app to be able to paste an image into a text input and be able to send it, on how to actually do this, I am unsure

My idea is this given a text input:

- a user could Ctrl-V (i.e., paste) something from his clipboard (a file in this instance), until a download url is returned (see below) there will be some loader spinner thingy
- In the backend is requested an Upload URL
- (somehow) whatever they pasted is immediately uploaded, likely by the path? But I am still a little bit unsure on that part
- a Download URL is returned on that S3 upload (SOMEHOW)
And thus you replace that temporary spinner with the download URL and the person can send it.

This is at least my idea on how you should be able to upload a piece of media in a message and be able to send it, I don't want just message attachments, that would be an easier story because once the association is made between the message and attachment you display it. I want something like in forums where the image can be embedded anywhere,

There is also one more small concern, on slow connection do you want to wait for the file to finish uploading first and then allow the user to send their message, or just send the message and let the upload come later, if the latter, how would you go across with doing that!?

The issue is, I have no idea on how to do this, I gave my approach above, I would really appreciate it if you guys gave some advice on what your approach would be and secondly, how to implement it, I already can get a presigned URL so that's not an issue

This is more of a design question, but it's also really interlinked with react so sorry if this is the wrong place to ask! ;-;
