AI probably won’t kill SaaS equally β€” and that may be the real opportunity

The biggest mistake in the β€œSaaSpocalypse” thesis is treating all SaaS companies as if they have the same exposure to AI.

Salesforce’s latest earnings make me think that argument might be too simple.

Agentforce ARR is already above $1.5B and growing 240% YoY, while Salesforce itself is still growing revenue around 11%. So AI doesn’t seem to be replacing the platform. It’s becoming another thing the platform can charge for.

The part I find most interesting is the pricing shift.

Traditional SaaS basically charges for how many people use the software. But if AI agents are doing more of the work, companies can start charging based on usage or work completed instead.

So maybe the real divide isn’t AI vs SaaS. It’s platforms with deep customer data, workflows and integrations vs smaller tools that mostly sell a narrow feature.

The second group seems much easier for AI to commoditize.

What is a safe process for retiring unused CRM fields?

A field with few recent values may still feed an old report, integration, routing rule, permission check, or quarterly workflow. Deleting it too quickly can create a silent failure; keeping every field forever makes the schema harder to understand and maintain. What evidence do you require before retiring one? A workable process seems to need an owner, usage checks across automations and exports, a deprecation period, a replacement mapping when definitions changed, and a recoverable archive of old values. How do you handle fields that are technically populated but no longer trusted?

Looking for a reliable, US-compliant dispatch platform for 100+ roofing subcontractors

Looking for a reliable, US-compliant dispatch platform for 100+ roofing subcontractors (no coding/self-hosting). Per-user pricing ($30-$50/mo) is a dealbreaker. The system must support US privacy laws by hiding saved client contacts from dispatchers and region-locking local managers. Subcontractors need an app showing only job details and ZIP codes, unlocking full addresses only after clicking "Accept". It must support direct assignment, broadcast dispatching, and US-compliant Twilio/VoIP call recording without premium phone plans. Any flat-rate or low-cost recommendations?

Looking for a budget Field Service/Dispatch app for 100+ roofing subcontractors. Need strict client privacy for techs and managers.

Hi everyone,
I am scaling a roofing business in the US with about 100 subcontractors across multiple regions. I don't need a sales CRM like HubSpot. I need a straightforward dispatching platform for booking and routing.

Note: Just to clarify, I am not looking for open-source software, self-hosted platforms, or frameworks that require coding, setting up servers, or hiring a developer to customize. I simply do not have the time or interest to deal with code or technical setups. I am strictly looking for a fully finished, out-of-the-box SaaS solution where all these privacy and dispatch settings can be easily configured right through the standard admin dashboard.

Must-have features:

Hide client info from techs: Techs should only see the job details and ZIP code. Full address and phone number must be hidden.

Job Board App: Techs need an app with [Accept / Decline] buttons. The full address should unlock ONLY after they click "Accept".

Manual + Auto Dispatch: Ability to assign a job directly or blast it to a local pool (first-come, first-served).

Region lock for managers: Local managers should only see jobs and contractors in their specific area. They shouldn't see data from other cities.

Hide client data from dispatchers: Once a manager enters a lead's info and saves it, that phone number/email should become hidden from their view so they can't copy my client list.

Cheap Twilio/VoIP integration: Need cheap call recording without overpriced built-in CRM phone plans.

Affordable pricing for 100+ users: Paying $30-$50/mo per contractor is a dealbreaker. Need a flat rate or cheap per-subcontractor pricing.

Looking for a budget, specialized On-Demand Dispatch / FSM CRM for 100+ contractors with strict data masking for BOTH technicians and managers

Hi everyone,
I am scaling a service-based business in the US with around 100 independent contractors (subcontractors) spread across multiple locations and regions.
Please note: I am NOT looking for a generic sales CRM (like HubSpot, Salesforce, or Zoho). I need specialized On-Demand Dispatch, Uber-like, or Field Service Management (FSM) platform built natively for booking, routing, and field operations.
Here are my non-negotiable requirements:

Strict Contact Masking for Technicians: When a job is dispatched, the technician must ONLY see the job description and the general area/ZIP code. The client’s full name, exact address, and phone number must remain hidden.

Actionable Mobile App: Technicians must use a dedicated mobile app with clear buttons to [Accept] or [Decline] the job. The exact address and phone number should only reveal themselves after they click "Accept".

Flexible Dispatching: The system needs to support both Direct Assignment (manager manually picks a tech) and Automatic Dispatching (broadcast to a local pool on a first-come, first-served basis).

Regional Manager Restrictions: I have regional managers. Each manager must be locked into their specific cities/regions. They should NEVER be able to see or access leads, jobs, or contractor lists from other regions.

Manager Data Blindness (Blind Entry): When a manager or dispatcher inputs new lead data into the CRM, they should work "blind." Once they type in and save the customer's sensitive details, those fields must immediately mask or hide from their view so they cannot copy the client list.

Affordable Telephony Integration: I need VoIP/telephony integration to record calls, but it must be cheap or free (like a direct integration with Twilio at wholesale rates or an external VoIP provider) [4.3]. I do not want to be forced into expensive built-in CRM phone upsells where I pay massive markups per minute [4.2].

Flat Rate or Cheap Subcontractor Pricing: Paying $30–$50/month for every single one of my 100 independent contractors is a financial killer.

dropped 2 enrichment subscriptions and went waterfall for everything

We were paying for Apollo for email and Lusha for EU mobile, and on top of that a separate verification layer because the catch-all detection on both was sending us into bounce rates that were flagging our sender domains.

We consolidated the enrichment into a single waterfall query, a few of us had been testing FullEnrich already so we kept it, with no separate API calls per provider, and that's what got rid of the per-tool credit billing we had before.

Email coverage and verification held up well on the switch, and the hit rates tracked closely to what we were pulling across providers before, so the consolidation on email wasn't a downgrade.

The one thing that varies by region is EU direct dial in DACH and Southern Europe, since some of our clients target larger manufacturing contacts there, and EU mobile coverage is where we're still running more volume through before drawing conclusions.

Whether that's a configuration thing or just a coverage ceiling for certain regions, that's what we're still weighing before deciding whether a dedicated phone tool needs to come back into the stack.

can you run lemlist from inside your CRM or Gmail without switching to a separate app?

We run sequences for a few clients out of HubSpot and the constant tab-switching is costing us time.

The reason is that there's the CRM, Gmail and whatever outbound tool we're using all going at once, and activity syncing back into HubSpot is unreliable, so the CRM view is just stale when it matters.

Been going through a few options, and Lemlist's whole thing is that you run full sequences from inside Gmail or your CRM without a separate login, which sounds exactly like what we need, but I've tried tools before where the Gmail or CRM integration was just an add-on, and Lemlist is the first one I've seen where the whole workflow is built around the inbox and CRM natively.

What I need to know is whether the CRM sync is bidirectional, so tasks and activities log back without manual reconciliation, and whether multichannel steps like LinkedIn and calls and WhatsApp are workable from inside the Gmail extension or HubSpot, or if those still need a separate Lemlist tab.

If this sounds familiar, did it hold up once you went multichannel?

Software recommendations for non-profits and social services (case management / tracking)?

Hey everyone, looking for solid software recommendations for our non-profit. We need something built specifically for social services and community care to handle client tracking, intake forms, and keep everything HIPAA compliant without being overly complicated for staff.

UPDATE: Kept seeing Community CareLink mentioned in a few threads for non-profits and health services. Looks like it handles case management, referrals, and grant reporting pretty well. Anyone here actually used Community CareLink in their org? Would love some real feedback before scheduling a demo

I got tired of my CRM remembering the note but forgetting the conversation

I work with customers every day, and I've always found this slightly broken.

After a call I can write a perfectly decent CRM note. I can log the outcome, next steps, objections, whatever matters.

Then 3 calls later, the CRM technically has all the information, but I still have to reconstruct the actual relationship myself.

What changed since the first conversation? What keeps coming up? Did I handle the same objection differently last time? What did I say that worked or made things worse? What should I remember before I speak to this person again?

That's the problem I've been building Callsect around.

It takes a customer call or transcript, breaks down what actually happened and why it mattered, gives you coaching on things you could have handled differently, generates the CRM note, and then carries that context forward across conversations so you can prepare for the next one.

I've been using it on my own calls for a while and it's become genuinely useful to me. The problem is that I'm also the person who built the damn thing, which makes me a terrible judge of whether the workflow makes sense to anyone else :D

So I'm looking for a few people who actually live in a CRM and have customer conversations regularly to try it on real calls and tell me where it falls apart.

It's free while in beta. You can see exactly what it does before signing up:

callsect.com

I'm especially interested in hearing from people who manage the same customer/account across multiple conversations. That's where I think the difference between storing notes and actually remembering the relationship becomes most obvious.

Spending $26K/year on HubSpot with no sales team β€” feels like massive overkill. What should we actually be using?

We run a small consulting + training business in the nonprofit space (donorrelations.com) β€” consulting engagements, online webinars, a couple of in-person conferences a year, plus content marketing. We're not a SaaS company, we don't have sales reps, and there's no real "pipeline" in the traditional sense β€” no one chasing deals through a sales cycle.

Despite that, we're paying $26K/year for HubSpot. When I actually break down what we use it for, it's basically:

  • Tracking registrations/sales for our online webinars
  • Tracking conference registrations
  • Keeping records on our consulting clients
  • Email/marketing automation

That's genuinely the whole list. No deal pipelines, no sales forecasting, none of the stuff that pricing tier seems to assume you need. We already run Shopify for our actual store, so there's some overlap there I'm questioning too.

It feels like we're paying enterprise-sales-team pricing for what amounts to an email marketing tool plus a glorified list of clients and event attendees.

For anyone who's been in a similar spot β€” service/consulting business, events + webinars, content marketing, no dedicated sales team β€” what did you move to, and did it actually save money without losing functionality? Trying to figure out if this is a "drop down a HubSpot tier" problem or a "leave HubSpot entirely" problem.

Happy to answer questions about our current setup if it helps get more specific suggestions.

Best way for bulk SMS sending?? B2C service biz

I run a service business in Europe with a few thousand active customers with average check like $15, and now we’re moving more appointment reminders and status updates into our CRM (btw I vibe coded prototype and after that my dev guy make it usable).

The main thing I care about is uptime. Missing or delaying a campaign during busy periods always creates a mess for support and we can't afford huge support dep now, so I’d rather pay more for something dependable than chase the cheapest rate.

For anyone here sending bulk SMS regularly, what setup do you prefer and how reliable has it been under heavier volume? Maybe something open sourced or developed inhouse? Grateful.

bump-ed: signed for a trial period with Acudo. At first I was thinking of going for Twilio as well-known option, but I didn’t want to bother with the overly lengthy set-up process and I also heard mixed reviews from other users.

What are you using to automate collections on overdue international invoices?

We have significant AR across 40+ customers. Our process is manual, export ageing reports, send reminder emails, follow up across time zones. Lean team, no dedicated collections staff. Looking for something that sends automated reminders, escalates based on risk and handles disputes without us chasing paperwork. What reduces DSO without adding headcount?

How do you track M&A deal flow without context slipping across deals?

Every time a 40-page CIM lands in your inbox, the clock starts. But the harder problem isn't analyzing one deal, it's keeping context across the 3 to 10 active opportunities you're juggling at once. You forget where a conversation stalled, and a broker follows up before you remember which business they represent.

Spreadsheets hold up until around deal 30, then nothing ties together. Salesforce is powerful but not built for deal flow; you spend weeks customizing objects for a system that still doesn't know what a CIM or an LOI is.

Curious what people here are actually using. Have you made a general CRM work for M&A pipeline tracking, or found something more specialized? How do you keep CIMs, financials, and broker conversations organized across concurrent deals?

What happens after a prospect fill out the form on your entreprise plan?

Lead fills form, you emails three days later, books a call, demo happens, proposal goes out as a PDF, three weeks of email negotiation, legal reviews a contract in DocuSign, deal closes in the CRM, someone manually creates an invoice in another tool, payment eventually lands.

How long does it take? how many tools do you use? How many things usually fall thriught the cracks? Any data loss between handovers?

We built something that cuts this to one system. Happy to share if anyone is curious.

Not everyone needs a huge CRM.

I built a Notion CRM for small agencies and consultants who want their sales workflow organized without feeling like they're setting up an entire enterprise system.

It keeps Deals, Companies, Contacts, and follow-ups connected, with views for active, won, and lost deals.

If you just want to try the deal side first, I also made the Deal Tracker available separately for free.

Would love to hear what you’d want in a simple CRM setup.

What does it mean to have a good data foundation?

I feel like when prepping for a client call, the useful context is in email, a drive folder, someone's calendar, or in someone's head. The CRM sometimes has the record, not necessarily all of the important information or is linked in the right way.

How are you guys solving this today? I'm thinking about how AI agents can help with data compilation but AI Assistants need a good data model to build from. Are you running into this?

Non-profit CRM with a Relationship-Focus

Hi all,

My org is looking for a new CRM that has strong relationship mapping abilities. We are a membership-based, nonpartisan, public-policy/leadership org and our CRM is most used for internal data tracking like meeting attendance, member engagement, and relationships between both individuals and company entities. Any suggestions appreciated!

Looking for RevOps/CRM gigs

Hey all, Quick one

I'm Mansoor, focused on CRM & RevOps and I'm looking for work right now. Open to full-time, contract, fractional, or subcontracting for agencies or companies with overflow. Remote, available EST.

What I do: I build and clean up the CRM side of the GTM stack. Pipeline and deal stages that reps actually follow. Clean data so the reporting means something. I'm currently in the CRM & RevOps cohort here, going deep on the strategy side, not just the button-clicking.

My stack: HubSpot, Salesforce, and Attio on the CRM side. Clay, enrichment, and TAM builds for data. Claude Code and n8n for automation and custom builds. Comfortable wiring these together into one system.

Good fit if CRM is a mess, or you're planning to implement one and want it done right the first time.

If you're hiring, know someone who is, or have overflow, DM me or make an intro. Happy to do a free teardown of your CRM/pipeline first so you can see how I think before you commit to anything.

DM and I'll share my portfolio.
