Scalelist review - worth trying for building lead lists fast?

We brought in Scalelist for the past couple weeks after seeing it mentioned here. The UI is clean and the filters are pretty thorough - you can drill down by industry, company size, job titles, the usual stuff. Data quality seems decent, maybe 70-80% accuracy on emails from what I've spot checked.

The pricing is where it gets tricky. Their starter plan is like a hundred bucks a month for 1,000 verified emails, which feels steep compared to other lead list building tools. Also noticed their mobile number coverage is pretty limited - only found numbers for maybe 15% of my contacts.

Biggest frustration is the search speed. Running a search with multiple filters can take 30-45 seconds, which adds up when you're building multiple lists. Their Chrome extension is buggy too - crashes half the time on LinkedIn.

We've been looking at UpLead as well but their credits system is confusing and I keep hearing mixed things. Also been eyeing Prospeo which seems to have better mobile coverage from what I've read.

Anyone else using Scalelist for outbound prospecting? How's your experience been? curious what others think about it specifically before I fully commit to switching.

I'm tired of crm providers putting essential features behind paywall!!

Recently I went to an AI conference and got quite a handful of leads ~300. Felt like the right point where I should switch from my excel sheets to actually start considering a CRM now since I will be needing things like email open rates, follow ups, tracking lead with a person in team etc.

Sadly, all the popular CRMs I checked out, had some small but critical feature behind a paywall. I tried hubspot, leadsquared, zoho crm, asana(as a hack) before I gave up. Like even using basic filters and sort feature is paywalled!

Knowing that selecting a CRM is going to be a one time activity, I really don't want to pick a CRM and later realise that some stupid feature requires $10 to unlock.

At this point I’m seriously considering building a simple CRM for myself that just includes all of this without locking random useful features behind higher plans. I strongly believe for small business a proper functional CRM should be free of such bs. If you have less than 1000 leads to manage, happy to onboard you if interested (free of cost ofc).

CRM optimization for Risj Management

For those who work in law firm intake and use Lawmatics/Clio, what have you done to make your intake process faster and more efficient, especially with a small intake team of around two people?
Looking specifically for ways to streamline the workflow, reduce repetitive/manual work, keep the pipeline clean, and make sure leads don’t get missed or sit too long without follow-up.
What Lawmatics automations, workflows, integrations, reports, pipeline setups, or small process changes have made the biggest difference for your team?

CRM recommendations for a small service based business

I am looking for CRM recommendations for a small business (3–4 employees across sales, marketing, and operations/service tickets).

**Sales side:** We have one sales rep and one SDR. The SDR makes a high volume of outbound calls, so we need native calling from within the platform (not a bolt-on), with calls automatically logged against the lead and AI transcription attached. We trialed Close CRM and loved it for exactly this, it's excellent for sales and SDR workflows. Loved how you can see all the emails associated with a lead on the platform. Close is really simple and light-weight.

**Post-sale side (where we're stuck):** Once a deal is won, we issue a service contract tied to a customer location. The contract captures the scope of work, contract type, and the staff assigned to it. These are living documents: staff get swapped out, one-off visits get added, materials/supplies get added. We need a full audit trail of those changes, plus the ability to upload confirmation documents to the record. We also run periodic quality inspections that need to be tracked back to the location.

**Inventory and pricing:** We buy supplies from vendors against a master supply list, and we need visibility into vendor price changes so we can reflect them on customer invoices. Basic CPQ would cover this so nothing elaborate.

All of this lives in Excel today and has become an administrative nightmare. We're officially ready to move it into a CRM, and Close doesn't handle the post-sale side well.

**What else matters:**

- **Configurability** β€” we need to relabel standard objects and create custom objects (if needed) as we go.

- **Reporting** β€” should be easy to build with the ability to report on multi-nested objects as needed

- **Document generation** β€” for contracts and related paperwork.

- **Storage/record limits** β€” want to be confident we won't hit a ceiling on record counts.

- **Marketing** β€” we don't run campaigns today, but I'd like the option to grow into it on the same platform.

-**UI** - simple UI and nothing crazy or complex. I also want to be able to configure page layouts with clicks and not code. It should be dummy proof.

I'd strongly prefer a single platform covering sales, ops, and marketing rather than stitching tools together. I don't want to manage integrations at this size.

Would especially appreciate hearing from anyone running a recurring-service business with similar requirements.

Thanks!

Excavation/Demolition Contractors: Is There Actually a Good All-in-One CRM?

I run an excavation/demolition company and have been trying to find a service-based CRM that actually fits the way we operate. I’ve looked into Workiz, Jobber, QuoteIQ, and a few others, but none seem to check all the boxes.
What I like about Jobber is the simplicity and ease of use, but I’m looking for something that can handle more of the operational side of a heavy equipment contractor.
Ideally, I want one system that can handle:
Clients, leads, estimates, jobs, invoicing, and billing
Job photos, documents, and notes
Calendar/scheduling with crews and individual employees assigned to jobs
Non-consumable equipment assigned to jobs the same way you would assign an employee or crew
Equipment availability so we can see where everything is scheduled and avoid double-booking it
Employee time tracking tied to specific jobs
Employees being able to log equipment hours/mileage
Pre-trip/pre-use inspections
Damage reports and maintenance issues
Individual history for each piece of equipment
The equipment side is where most CRMs seem to fall apart for us. We’re not talking about tracking consumable inventory. We have excavators, skid steers, dump trucks, trailers, attachments, ring saws, industrial pressure washers, specialized tools, etc.
I’d like to be able to assign something like an excavator + trailer + truck + operator to a project on the calendar and have all four treated as resources. Then, while it’s assigned, employees could record hours, inspections, damage, maintenance issues, etc., against that specific piece of equipment.
Right now, we’re basically using four different systems: a calendar/scheduling app, equipment management app, CRM, and billing/accounting app. It works, but there’s a ton of duplicated information and bouncing between apps.
Has anyone found something that can actually bring all of this together without becoming an overly complicated enterprise system?
I’m basically looking for Jobber-level simplicity with legitimate fleet/equipment management built into it.
Would especially like to hear from excavation, demolition, grading, concrete, trucking, or other equipment-heavy contractors about what you’re actually using day-to-day.

Should proof of completed field work live inside the CRMβ€”or in a separate verification layer?

I’m trying to think through a field-operations architecture question.
Most CRMs and FSM systems are good at the administrative record:
customer;
work order;
technician;
schedule;
status;
invoice.
But β€œcompleted” is often still a self-attestation. The technician presses a button or uploads a photo. The system records that the technician said it was complete, but that is not always the same as independently verifying the completion.
Full disclosure: I’m the founder of LockProof. We’re building a separate verification layer rather than another CRM.
A worker receives a secure text link, opens a live camera, and submits proof tied to the job. There is no worker account or app installation. The record includes server-recorded time and location when shared.
My open question is where that evidence should ultimately live.
Option A: LockProof remains the separate evidence system, and the CRM receives a status, link and summary.
Option B: The full evidence package gets copied into the CRM.
Option C: The CRM triggers the request, but the verified record remains externally stored.
For people who implement or manage CRMs:
Which approach creates the least operational friction?
Would you prefer an API, webhook, native integration or email-based workflow?
Would copying the entire evidence record into the CRM create retention or storage problems?
I’m interested in the architecture more than selling anything. The product is lockproof.com for context.

I used the Pipedrive MCP connector in Claude to re-engage lost leads

Last week I shared about how I started exploring what Claude and Pipedrive MCP could do. I ended up sending 40 emails to deals from my referral pipeline that were lost for a variety of reasons.

Today, I took it further.

I had a pile of lost deals in Pipedrive I wanted to revisit. Instead of doing it by hand or writing scripts against the Pipedrive API, I did it directly in Claude using the Pipedrive MCP connector. Here's what that looked like.

What Claude could do with MCP connected

Full read/write access to deals, persons, notes, activities, and custom fields. No Zapier, no CSV exports, no glue code. A few concrete things it did:

  • Found an undocumented custom field. I have a custom "Skills" field on Persons. I asked Claude to read notes on 40+ deals, worked out which tool each lead needed (Glide, Zapier, Clay, etc.), and bulk-tagged every person record.
  • Personalized outreach using deal notes. I narrowed down for one skill. For 25 lost deals, it pulled the notes, pulled out what the person actually asked for, and used that to write specific follow-ups instead of generic "just checking in" emails.
  • Applied business logic I gave it. I shared a few scenarios to explore and asked it to write personalized email based on whether they were trying to build an internal app or a customer facing app, whether they were open on rebuilding the app from scratch, or whether they had moved on to other ideas and wanted suggestions of new platforms to build this with.

The actual workflow tip: Activities, not emails

I set up a Pipedrive automation that sends an email when an Activity is marked "done." So instead of Claude drafting emails in Gmail (tried this first β€” works, but doubles your review work), I had it create Activities in Pipedrive directly:

  • Type: custom "Outreach" type
  • Subject: email subject
  • Note: full email body
  • Linked to the right deal and person

Now I review everything inside Pipedrive. Mark it done, my existing automation sends it. Claude never touches my inbox, and I'm not keeping the same content in two places.

Why this matters

Most "AI + CRM" demos are read-only or single-step. This was multi-step, using real CRM state the whole way through: reading deal history, reverse-engineering a schema, cross-referencing deals/persons/notes/activities, and writing back in a format that plugs into automation I already had. All through one connector, no code.

Happy to answer questions.

I want to build a CRM with little to no knowledge.

In context, I work as a paralegal with an attorney who is currently using at least 3 CRM with almost similar features and everything is all over the place.

One of the tools we use is google sheets (which is chaotic) We use 6-7 sheets and each sheet has 10 tabs.

We have claude and I used it to specify what I want. I just need to tidy it up a little more but I used all my credits.

I just want to know what's next?

Only the two of us will be using this.

I'm concerned about a few things.

  1. Storage - How and where to store data

  2. Security - how to make sure that our clients information is safe

We are very unorganized and tasks are being forgotten.

I just need help. No hate please

Is Attio's extension for scanning individual profiles on LinkedIn gone?

A few months ago I used the chrome extension for scanning individual profiles on linkedin to add to our Attio crm. Now all it scans when I go to a persons profile is 'linkedin.com' add company and below an option of 'creating a record manually'. Tried everything like deleting the extension and downloading it again, checking the all sites allowed, it's only on linkedin that is not working.
I tried it on my gmail inbox and it's scanning perfectly.

Sorry if this has been answered before I'm new to this thread

Has anyone else experienced this?

Has anyone else experienced this?

I've noticed something interesting recently.

A few times I've clicked on a Facebook or Instagram ad, visited the company's website, looked around for a minute or two, and left without filling out any form.

Later, I received a WhatsApp message from that business.

I don't remember sharing my phone number, so it made me wonder:

  • Is this happening through Meta's ecosystem?
  • Is it CRM and marketing automation?
  • Is it first-party data matching?
  • Or am I missing something?

I'm a CRM developer, and I build custom CRM and marketing automation solutions for businesses. I understand how powerful modern customer engagement tools have become, but this particular experience really caught my attention.

I'd love to know if anyone here understands the technical side of how this works (assuming it's all done within privacy regulations).

Has this happened to you too?
